Emergency Plumbing Services
Emergency calls are different from everything else on this list. A burst pipe, a sewer backup, flooding, or no water at all — these are not problems you can schedule for next Tuesday. If you are searching for an emergency plumber or a 24 hour plumber, the damage is already happening, and the first hour decides how much of it becomes permanent. We take after-hours calls and come prepared to stop the damage first: shut the water off, contain what has already escaped, and stabilize the situation before we talk about the repair. The emergency call-out fee is $139, and any flat-rate repair that follows is billed at 1.5 times the standard rate. We tell you both numbers before we start, and the repair is quoted in writing the same way it would be during regular hours. If it can wait until morning, we will tell you that too.

What we handle
- Burst pipes and active water leaks
- Sewer backups into the house
- Flooding from a failed appliance
- No water at any fixture
- No hot water in the whole house
- Gas smell or suspected gas leak
- Toilet overflowing and won’t stop
How emergency pricing works
The emergency call-out fee is $139. Any flat-rate repair that follows is billed at 1.5 times the standard rate. Both numbers are confirmed before we start work. If you decide not to proceed with the repair after the diagnosis, you pay only the $139 call-out fee.
Emergency rates apply to weekdays after 4 PM, weekends, and statutory holidays. If the call is not actually an emergency and can wait until regular hours, we will tell you that when you call — the standard rate applies.
FAQ
What counts as an emergency?
Anything that is actively causing damage or making the house unsafe. A burst pipe. A sewer backup. Flooding from a failed appliance. A gas smell. No water at all. If you can turn off the water and wait until morning without further damage, it is probably not an emergency — and we will tell you that when you call.
Do you actually answer after hours?
Yes. Calls go to a live person or a call-back system, not a voicemail box. If we are on another emergency, we call back as quickly as possible. The wait time depends on what else is happening that night.
What should I do while I wait for the plumber?
Turn off the water at the main shut-off valve if you can reach it. If the issue is a burst pipe, that stops most of the damage. If the issue is a sewer backup, stop using water in the house — every flush or tap makes it worse. If you smell gas, leave the house and call FortisBC first, then call us.
Can you come out for a gas leak?
If you suspect a gas leak, leave the house and call FortisBC’s emergency line first. Once the gas is shut off and the house is safe, we can come out to repair the line. We do not handle the gas emergency itself — that is the utility’s job — but we handle the plumbing repair that follows.
Is the emergency rate negotiable?
No. The $139 call-out fee and the 1.5× repair rate are fixed for all emergency calls, regardless of the day or time. The rate reflects the fact that a technician is leaving their home or another job to respond. If the call can wait until regular hours, we will tell you that when you call, and the standard rate applies.
