Dishwasher Installation & Repair

A dishwasher connects to three things: the water supply, the drain, and the power. When one of those connections fails, the symptom is almost always water on the floor — either under the unit itself or in the cabinet next to it. The supply line is the most common culprit. It sits under constant pressure, and a small leak at the fitting slowly damages the cabinet and the subfloor underneath. The drain connection is second. A blocked or loose drain hose backs water into the bottom of the dishwasher or into the sink. The unit itself rarely fails first. Most dishwasher “problems” are connection problems, and most of those are fixable without replacing the machine. We check the connections before we recommend a replacement.

FAQ

Can you install a dishwasher I bought myself?

Yes. We install homeowner-supplied dishwashers. We do not supply the unit itself, but we handle everything else: disconnecting the old machine, installing the new one, connecting the water supply and drain line, sealing the connections, and testing for leaks.

Water is pooling under my dishwasher. Is the unit done?

Usually not. A leak under a dishwasher is almost always at the supply line fitting, the drain hose connection, or the door gasket — not inside the machine itself. We check all three before recommending a replacement. If the leak is at a connection, it is a same-visit fix.

My dishwasher does not drain fully. Is that the dishwasher or the drain?

It can be either. If the drain hose is kinked, blocked, or looped wrong, water stays in the unit. If the drain connection into the sink or disposal is partially blocked, water backs up the same way. Both are plumbing issues, and both are fixable without pulling the machine out of the cabinet.

How long does a dishwasher installation take?

A standard removal and installation is usually one to two hours, depending on how accessible the water and drain connections are behind the unit.
