Kitchen Sink & Faucet Repair

A kitchen sink has two parts that fail most often: the faucet and the drain. The faucet cartridge wears down and starts to drip — a small leak that slowly damages the valve seat underneath and gets more expensive the longer it runs. The drain narrows from grease and food particles until water sits in the bottom of the sink. Around the sink itself, the seal between the rim and the countertop dries out, and water starts to seep into the cabinet below. None of these are complicated repairs, but each one gets worse if it is ignored. We identify which part is actually failing, then quote the specific fix before we start. If the cartridge is the only problem, that is what we replace.

FAQ

How do I know if it is the cartridge or the whole faucet?

If the faucet drips only when closed, and the body of the faucet is solid and not corroded, the cartridge is almost always the problem. Cartridge replacement is a one-visit job. If the body is pitted, cracked, or the finish is flaking off, the faucet is usually worth replacing instead.

My kitchen sink drains slowly. Do I need a new sink?

Almost never. A slow kitchen drain is usually grease and food particles narrowing the pipe from the inside, not a problem with the sink itself. Drain cleaning clears the line and restores normal flow. If the drain is slow again within weeks, the line may have a deeper issue that needs camera inspection.

Can you install a sink I bought myself?

Yes. We install homeowner-supplied kitchen sinks — drop-in, undermount, and farmhouse. We do not supply the sink itself, but we handle everything else: removal of the old unit, cutting or adjusting the countertop opening if needed, installation, sealing, and testing.

My faucet drips even after I replaced the cartridge. What now?

If the drip continues after a new cartridge, the valve seat inside the faucet body has been damaged by the old cartridge wearing against it. In most cases the faucet body needs to be replaced, because the seat cannot be repaired on a standard kitchen faucet. We will tell you that before we start, not after.
